The 35-year old Actor & Singer was attacked in Chicago, early Tuesday morning, by two masked men. The offenders approached the Actor around 2 a.m. after leaving a Subway, gaining his attention by yelling out racial and homophobic slurs.
The assailants proceeded to beat Jussie while pouring bleach on him. In the midst of the attack, the masked men tied a noose around his neck. Sources close to the Actor/Singer reported the masked assailants yelled out ‘this is MAGA country’. The attacks are believed to be pre-meditated, after the actor received at letter stating: “You will die black F** “.
Smollett was hospitalized and has since been released from Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago. Thankfully he’s reported in good condition, considering. The actor resides in Chicago, where the popular FOX show films.
The offenders of the assault fled the scene. Given the severity of the assault, Chicago Detectives are investigating this assault and battery as a possible hate crime.
