Colin Kaepernick - Nike Just Do It campaign

Colin Kaepernick is not throwing in the towel on racial injustice nor ready to give up on his pro sports career. He was last active in the NFL during the 2016 season with the San Francisco 49ers.

On his Twitter post on Wednesday, the 31-year-old wrote: “5am. 5 days a week. For 3 years. Still Ready.” He then noted in a corresponding video that he’s been “denied” work for 889 days (see clip below).

Kaepernick “Kap” was blacklisted after he was instrumental in igniting a protest movement against police brutality by kneeling during the playing of the national anthem at games. The league responded by shutting him out. Kaepernick fired back by filing a grievance in October 2017 and he has not played since the 2016 season.
