Tonight on Classix at Nite with Donna, our Mellow Monday Video of the Night is “King Holiday” — a song that represents unity not just in message, but in execution.

Released on January 13, 1986, King Holiday was created to honor Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and celebrate the first national observance of MLK Day on January 20, 1986.

The project was spearheaded by Dexter Scott King, Dr. King’s youngest son, who served as executive producer. All proceeds from the record were donated to the King Center for Nonviolent Social Change.
