Lionel Richie, 77, experienced a health scare while opening his 2026 tour in Minnesota on Wednesday Night He suffered a sudden
dizzy spell onstage and was taken to the hospital as a precautionary measure. He postponed several subsequent tour dates on

Onstage Medical Scare
- Incident: Richie was performing his song “Dancing on the Ceiling” when he suddenly felt dizzy and had to sit down on
- stage.
- Hospitalization: He performed a few more songs, announced an unplanned intermission, and was subsequently taken to the local hospital to be monitored.
- Cause: Bandmates and sources noted that he had become heavily overheated and was experiencing symptoms of dehydration and vertigo.
