Dribblin’ is back. The NBA is slated to resume the season starting July 31st. It will be an abbreviated season with a 22-team, eight-game wrap-up to the regular season. Followed by a possible play-in tournament for the eighth seed and playoffs — to resume the 2019-20 season inside Walt Disney World’s ESPN Wide World of Sports complex.

The NBA will conduct coronavirus testing on a nightly basis in Orlando, but will do so with lighter mouth or nasal swabs, as opposed to the more intrusive ones.
Since the Atlanta Hawks were more than six games out of playoff contention (14th of 15 teams in the Eastern Conference) when the season was suspended March 11 because of the coronavirus, they became one of the eight teams excluded from the NBA’s plan to restart the season come this July in Orlando.

As a result, Vince Carter is also hanging up his NBA season after a great 22-year run, as he intended to retire after this season. Another NBA Legend calling it a wrap, Kevin Durant. He will not debut for the season once it resumes.
