Although it appears that Chris Rock won't be pressing charges for the now-infamous slap seen everywhere, Will Smith still took time to publicly apologize for stepping out of character at the Oscars last night to defend a joke aimed at his wife, Jada Pinkett Smith.

Rep. Ayanna Pressley deleted a tweet she posted praising Will Smith for smacking Chris Rock during the Oscars 2020 award show after Rock made a joke about Jada Pinkett-Smith and her alopecia condition.

The move comes following the county's decision to adopt a new map after data was published about Black and Brown population growth in the 2020 Census.

The hearing will focus partially on how universal healthcare coverage, with all types of medical care free at the point of service as it is in other wealthy nations, would help close health disparity gaps for people with disabilities, people of color, low-income and poor people, and other marginalized groups.

Sen. Mike Braun said during a Tuesday press conference that the U.S. Supreme Court had legalized federal policies that should instead be left to states to decide. A reporter asked him if that applied to Loving v. Virginia, which legalized interracial marriage. Braun said "yes" but now he says he "misunderstood."

It's one thing to disagree with and clarify points of contention with a given nominee. It Is entirely different to inject debunked claims and distortions into the confirmation process. 

Looking to score cheap points, the GOP equated a Black woman with liberal leanings as being the boogeyman Republicans claim is destroying America. 

A new generation of Black lawyers showed up to support Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson's confirmation alongside Black public defenders and other legal professionals.  

By attacking public defenders, Republican Senators are attacking the guidance and supervision of the administrative oversight provided by the United States Courts.

Elise Malary had dedicated her life to "lifting up" the Illinois LGBTQ community through her advocacy work. Now, her death is renewing fears of violence against Black trans women, in particular.
